Critical Mass for Facilitation and Training© is born of the passion of the National Challenge Course Practitioners Symposium (NCCPS). For years now NCCPS has presented "pre" and "post" conference workshops that have featured dynamic presenters conducting single and multi day formats. For Critical Mass, the best workshops from NCCPS are joined by the best new workshops of talented professionals from around the country and across the field. Unlike the National Challenge Course Practitioners Symposium, Critical Mass does not feature the Virtual Space meeting technology. The long sessions at Critical Mass allow for very focused and detailed material that must be planned well in advance. NCCPS will continue to function with the Virtual Space technology for those who have come to love the truly experiential format and empowerment of learning that it has become famous for. Critical Mass features a new à la carte format that allows you to choose just the workshops that fulfill your training goals. Each day of Critical Mass a number of different workshops will be offered for full day enrollment. You pre-select a workshop for each day of Critical Mass, or just the one-day and workshop that fits your schedule.
Historically, the best advanced trainings in the industry have been provided by just a few individual organizations. Offerings have been limited to a relatively small number of polished workshops facilitated by advanced trainers. Trainers not employed or aligned with these organizations have few resources to market themselves; depriving practitioners of their unique perspective and specialized material. Critical Mass introduces you to a plethora of dynamic trainers with new and time-tested material. Watch Critical Mass in the years to come for an endless procession of talent and timely material.
Critical Mass features workshops that have proven to be crowd pleasers. Experienced trainers will provide their best material in a wide range of topics and populations. Workshop tracks will feature options in the areas of corporate, youth at risk, mental health, religious ministry, school & colleges, scouting, program & risk management and advanced facilitation. You can enroll in any workshop that meets your needs, regardless of its track.
The expense associated with travel has prevented a very large number of practitioners from attending any national conference or opportunities for continuing education. Critical Mass will move from venue to venue bringing fresh material to areas passed over by others. Each venue will feature a number of lodging options to keep the expense in the range of any individual. Several times a year Critical Mass will appear in different sections of the United States. Watch your mail for new dates and locations in the months and years to come.
A number of options are available if you need continuing education credits for your job. Options include letters of attendance, paperwork completed for your institution or credits secured through an institution aligned with the Critical Mass program. Look for specific CEU information on the site-specific pages of this brochure.
One of the best parts of any conference or workshop is the new friendships and professional connections that develop. It is a given that you will make new connections during your training day. At Critical Mass, every meal and each evening presents time to meet the people enrolled in other workshops.
Each workshop begins at 9:00am and ends at 5:00pm. Persons staying at the training site can purchase a full meal plan. Day participants can purchase meals if they choose.
Evenings at Critical Mass are a time for fun. Join the days' presenters and your very talented peers for hours of mindless fun. Bring a game to share and take home even more nuggets of fun for your programs.
