Traversing and Climbing Walls are ideal for developing confidence, coordination, muscular strength and life skills!
Traversing and Climbing Walls can be powerful tools that develop an individual not only physically, but also mentally and socially. Experience has shown that schools, camps and facilities that invest in formal training get the most in terms of programming and risk management from their investment. If you were to think of your wall as a computer and training as the software, installing the right software makes all the difference.
Climb with Purpose © is a *(1 or 2) day workshop that will help educators, facilitators and managers maximize the use of their Traversing and Climbing Wall. Learn how to make the most of this incredible educational tool with YOUR participants!
If you have a Traversing or Climbing Wall: The focus of day 1* will be around developing skills on a Traversing Wall. Participants will learn: basic bouldering techniques, risk management, experiential games, route setting, wall maintenance and more...
If you have a (vertical) Climbing Wall: On day 2*, participants will build on their skills from day 1 and learn knot tying, belaying, equipment care, route setting and more...
*The workshop is broken into two, 1-day units to accommodate both types of walls. Traversing Wall Managers may choose to participate in day 2, though it is not necessary. We do, however, strongly recommend that Climbing Wall Managers attend both days as day 1 contains important foundational information. A Climbing Wall is versatile and is often used as both a Traversing and Climbing Wall.
This workshop is hands on and very active so come ready to climb, learn and connect with other educators and facilitators.
